California Democratic Headquarters

Client: The California Democratic Party
Project Location: Sacramento, CA
Square Feet: 10,740
Construction Cost: $2,100,000

The California Democratic Party purchased a vacant retail building in mid-town Sacramento to renovate into their new Party Headquarters.  The building houses the Party's offices, training room and an outdoor patio for fundraisers.

The existing building had very few exterior windows and low ceiling heights.  To create an open environment with light and views from all regularly occupied spaces and an open feeling, many exterior windows were added and the few office walls installed consist of floor to ceiling glass.  No ceilings were installed to maintain the feeling of a higher ceiling.

The project is currently awaiting a LEED Gold Certification from the USGBC.  Green building components include photo voltaic panels, very low flow plumbing fixtures, drought tolerant landscaping and high efficiency mechanical systems.
