The modernization project provides Lincoln High School with a new wood, and machine shops. The modernization of the existing buildings is in conjunction with the engineering and construction academy program providing students with new shop area, classrooms and outdoor construction areas.

The buildings interior, exterior and it’s mezzanine areas were completely gutted down to the existing structure to accommodate all new programmed spaces, new mechanical, electrical systems. The communication and data systems were upgraded. The existing mezzanine space was reduced in size to allow for new machinery to accommodate height requirements of materials. All new mechanical spaces were moved to the mezzanine level to utilize programmed required exterior space.

The buildings existing exterior finish of cement plaster was replaced. GRA attached a 9’-0” high CMU wainscot wall to provide durability, longevity and to establish an architectural relationship amongst all new existing program buildings. New thermal upgrades of walls, roofs and insulated windows systems were incorporated. New roofing and gutter systems were provided. New building entrances were integrated with the overall design of the Engineering and Construction Academy campus. Placement of new full height window alcoves along paths of travel allowed students visual access to student work.
