Project Details
West of Chicago Restaurants, Inc. was establishing their 2nd location in the Sacramento area. The location would be occupying an empty restaurant and the design of the newest restaurant for this company would have to incorporate the vision that the owner had on the appearance of this renovated restaurant, as well as the constraints of the current building.
The project started with demolition of interior walls, ceiling and ductwork in what would be the kitchen, dining room, bar area, and even the bar itself. It also included relocation and improvements to the HVAC system, kitchen equipment along with the exhaust hood and fan being relocated.
The new design created a wider entry point and hostess station, a take-out area. The owner had two custom made elements created, a wood
bar and an acid etched glass with lighting of the skyline of Chicago. The renovation included creating an open and expanded bar and in bar dining areas. Throughout the restaurant a dropped tin ceiling system was used, additional wood elements and leather finishes were used in many areas of the restaurant to provide an authentic styled "Chicago Pizzeria."
